Herbivore, Omnivore, Carnivore colouring activity

This month we have created a colouring activity to explore different animals from different habitats of the world and what they eat.

Are they Herbivores, Omnivores or Carnivores?

  • A Herbivore is an animal that eats only plants.
  • An Omnivore is an animal that eats a variety of plant & meat.
  • A Carnivore is an animal that eats only meat.

The activity includes 8 main habitats of the world and we’ve illustrated a Herbivore, Omnivore and Carnivore animal that lives in each habitat.

The habitats and animals include:

Grassland - Elephant, Warthog, Lion

Polar - Musk Ox, Wolverine, Orca

Desert - Camel, Meerkat, Gila Monster

Mountain - Yak, Grizzly Bear, Andean Condor

Temperate Forest - Koala, Skunk, Weasel

Freshwater - Beaver, Crayfish, Black Caiman

Ocean - Dugong, Olive Ridley Turtle, Bottlenose Dolphin

Rainforest - Okapi, Toucan, Reticulated Python

You can expand this activity further to research what each animal eats, how the habitat they live in supports their dietary needs, and how the size and perceived cuteness of an animal do not classify what they eat.
